stress is a catch- all term that people use to describe events that affect them negatively. with the crazy. hectic lives that we lead it is easy to forget about taking care of our bodies. at one time or another, all of us experience stress. Feelings of stress, anxiety and depression are a healthy response to events in our lives. When we are healthy and the stress is short-lived. we are usually able to recover without too much wear and tear to our overall health. However, when the stress is extreme, or if it lasts a long time. the constant state of stress takes its toll on our emotional health and ultimately, our physical health. QI, the vital substance of life that energizes the body and its functions, stagnates cause tension and pain. Cortisol,the body's stress hormone elevates, blood pressure increases,and our immune function is suppressed. over time, these symptoms become worse and can develop into anxiety, depression, fatigue, digestive problems, and tension headaches.
How It Works
In Chinese medicine, stress, anxiety, depression or any strong emotion interrupts the smooth flow of QI throughout. stress. anger. or any intense emotion acts like a traffic jam, blocking the free flow of energy throughout the body thus causing pain.For example, many people who are very stressed out complain of upper back, shoulder and neck pain. this is because stress is cause tension in those area, constraining the flow of energy. which in turn causes pain. tightness, and often leading to headaches, stress may affect many other parts of the body. most notably digestion, the ability to sleep, pain conditions, and blood pressure. Stress can also aggravate an already troublesome health condition.
Though the use of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, stress related blockages can be addressed . symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression can be alleviated. blood circulation. improved and physical and mental-emotional pain relieved.
Treatment
Acupuncture points are located all over the body. each treatment is unique with points selected based on the the TCM diagnosis of individual patient by Dr. Hu. Acupuncture points will be chosen with the objective of removing stagnant Qi within the body. increasing blood flow and circulation. and relieving pain that might be present.
During treatment, tiny, sterile needle as narrow as a human hair will be place along your legs, arms, and shoulders, in addition to treating the root of the imbalance within the body. different acupuncture points may be chosen for each symptom. also use different treatment methods such as cupping, electronic stimulation, Moxa...
The length, number and frequency of treatments will vary. typical treatment last from five to 30 Minutes. with the patient being treated one to five times a week. some symptoms are relieved after the first treatment. while more severe or chronic ailments often require multiple treatments.
